International CALIBER 2008

CALIBER (Convention on Automation of Libraries in Education and Research Institutions) is an international convention, organized every year by INFLIBNET Centre at different parts of the country in collaboration with universities. This is the premier convention in India which provides a unique forum to the library and information professionals, teachers, IT professionals, consultants and users involved in automation and networking of libraries as well as information providers to come together and interact on the subjects of mutual interest. The CALIBER 2008 is a 15th CALIBER in the series and 6th International CALIBER on the theme “From Automation to Transformation”. The Convention is organized at the University of Allahabad, Allahabad during 28th to 29th February and 1st March 2008. The official language of the convention will be English.

CONVENTION HIGHLIGHTS

Topics and Formats

The convention features invited talks and contributed papers on standards in LIS, best practices, and recent advances in new information and communication technology and its impact on LIS.

Emphasis on Current Technologies

Digital libraries, federated search, content aggregations and content representations and other evolving technologies in the area of ICT for LIS will be addressed during sessions through invited talks and research paper presentations from the professionals.

Exhibition, Showcase and Commercial Presentations

 

The convention will offer a forum to IT firms and vendors to showcase the latest products, services, tools and technology applicable in LIS.
